I'm Michele Humphrey from Klamath Falls, Oregon, and I reside just outside of town in a small farming community called Malin. Where I spend my time farming, ranching, and raising kids with my husband. You will find our territory is absolutely true to its beauty with high snow-covered peaks, aromas of sage, and bitterbrush, crystal clear mountain lakes, historic lava formations and flows, and the breathtaking sunsets of the high desert. I love my hometown and the surrounding beauty it offers to all its residents and visitors. I love to brag about all the bountiful recreation Klamath County has to offer. Friends and Family will find an array of activities such as hiking, kayaking, boating, fishing, sailing, ziplines, camping, atv riding, horseback riding, hunting, and many more. We are also in very close proximity to two wonderful, amazing national parks.
Although, I'm very fond of Crater Lake National Park, and it's a must visit for anyone looking to connect with nature. Crater Lake is in the high Cascade Mountains and is formed by a now collapsed volcano, Mount Mazama. When you visit you will see Wizard Island which is a cinder cone near the western edge of the lake. While you are there don't forget to take a drive around the lake on Rim Road. Rim Road offers views of the park’s volcanic formations. There is also a lodge and a restaurant.
Just south of us across the California border is Lava Beds National Park. The monument lies on the northeastern flank of Medicine Volcano and has the largest total area covered by a volcano in the Cascade Range. This incredible area is also rich with history of settlers, Modoc Indian War, and Native American heritage. These beautiful areas are just naming a few.
If you’re not an outdoor enthusiast Klamath Falls offers other great area attractions. I like to attend many spectacular events at Ross Ragland Theater. Here you will find outstanding performances in various arts and cultures. Downtown offers Third Thursday events throughout the summer where the avid shopper can support small businesses with live music, great food, and friends and families come together. Don't miss out on our Saturday Farmers market, also located downtown. Local growers showcase their hard work and sell fresh produce and other tasty treats to local consumers. This is just naming a few.
Klamath County has a great Chamber of Commerce and I know they would love to supply anyone with all kinds of great information. So, plant some roots in Klamath County and make a remarkable decision you will never regret!
